TOOTH EXTRACTION
 |
Why should you need teeth extraction ?
There are many reasons that bring to the teeth extraction decision. Some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed, or may have gum disease, or else have broken in a fashion which cannot be repaired. Other teeth may need removal because they are poorly positioned in the mouth or else in preparation for orthodontic treatment.

BAD BREATH
What causes bad breath ?
Bad breath is usually caused by the bacteria that live in a person s mouth. For the majority of people (85 to 90% of those who have bad breath the single most frequent source of their breath odor problem is related to oral bacteria. Bacteria, just like people, go through their lives consuming foods and excreting wastes. The wastes of some oral bacteria are sulfur compounds and lying on our tongues and teeth. It is primarily these odoriferous wastes which usually lie at the root of a person s bad breath. |

DENTAL SEALANTS
 |
Why are dental sealants placed on teeth ?
Tooth decay is caused by the white film that forms on a person s teeth, dentist s refer to this film as "plaque." The longer plaque remains on a tooth s surface the more likely it will be able to create a cavity. The idea behind brushing teeth is that the plaque that has accumulated on a tooth s surface is scrubbed off. Some teeth however, because of their anatomy, are harder to effectively clean than others.

OCCLUSION ADJUSTMENT
Occlusion is how your teeth come together when you close your jaw. Your Occlusion is influenced by three primary components: (1) teeth, (2) nerves and muscles, and (3) bones. Another factor, which can affect the way your teeth come together, is your posture.
Chewing is the movement of three-dimension and is required to be smooth. If anything obstructs this movement, it will cause temporal-joint disorder and gradually become complicated problems for chewing system. |

PERIODOTAL DISEASE

Missing Tooth and Receding Gum Tissue
What causes periodontal disease ?
Our mouths are full of bacteria. These bacteria, along with mucus and other particles, constantly form a sticky, colorless "plaque" on teeth. Brushing and flossing help get rid of plaque. Plaque that is not removed can harden and form bacteria-harboring "tartar" that brushing doesn t clean. Only a professional cleaning by a dentist or dental hygienist can remove tartar. |

COLORED FILLING
.jpg)
Today, more patients ask their dentists about white fillings because they want their teeth to look natural when they laugh, talk and smile. White fillings, also called composite fillings, are made from tooth-colored materials that restore the natural appearance of a decayed or previously filled tooth. Because they blend well with tooth enamel and don t look like fillings, your dentist may recommend them if the teeth to be restored are near the front of your mouth. A composite filling usually requires only one visit, during which the tooth is prepared and restored. |

DENTAL INLAYS/ONLAYS
 |
To repair damage to the tooth s biting surface, rather than using a simple filling, or a crown, a dentist will often use an inlay, or an onlay. Inlays and onlays can be made from porcelain, gold, or composite or ceramic resin, although porcelain is now becoming the material of choice because of its strength and potential to match the natural color of your tooth.
An inlay is similar to a filling and lies inside the cusp tips of the tooth. They are custom-made to fit the prepared cavity and are then cemented into place. An onlay is a more extensive reconstruction that covers one or more cusps of a tooth. Onlays are indicated in situations where a substantial reconstruction is required.

BRIDGES
A dental bridge is a false tooth which is fused between two porcelain crowns in order to replace a missing tooth. Each bridge is custom made to fill in the space. If spaces are left unfilled the surrounding teeth are liable to drift out of position. Furthermore, spaces from missing teeth can cause your other teeth and your gums to become far more susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease. If you have missing teeth and have good oral hygiene practices, you should discuss this procedure with our dentist. |
